The time had arrived. The herald of war had soon reached the students of Everlast Magic School. Though there were plans of rebuilding the school, however war had initiated throughout Bosporus. The main forces were designated in a rather barren area and only a select few were sent to destroy the forces when they were separated throughout Bosporus, leaving the base in its weakest defense. The group was formed by an unknown figure that beseeched for the group of magicians to work according to the

...

From the east of the main area, there were many warrior-like soldiers set up on guard. A hundred, if not, more. The group had a lot of swordsman, but also had a lot of variety from archers to magicians. The group leading the offensive attack from the east is Mortimer Graves. He was the group leader and extremely reliable. He was made the group leader because of his wide range of spells and his wide and adaptable intellect.

The members at his arsenal were all powerful in their own right with a majority of them being female. Aliidan Hana was a perfect example of this with powerful electrical (despite her fear for electricity) spells and array of variety between those spells. Rie Nakamura too was a powerful swordsman herself. She is a skilled swordsman who has one of the biggest advantages against magicians being able to render water or fire spells useless with her artifact. Saijun one of the males in the group too was powerful in his own right, currently taking up a sword form and having the ability to seal magic. Illa Loran was also participating in this party being one of the strongest female wizards in the whole ally side army, however her knowledge of different spells was limited.
Najiko Kaguya was one of the weaker units, however she had a deadly ability being "the last" of her clan being able to control bones with magic in a special style.
Kanzaki Hoshiko was a mysterious girl with unknown abilities, but one could only wonder why she would be participating in stopping the attack on Bosporus... The final member of the group was Drake Maddex, he seemed normal in terms of strength, however he held a mysterious aura about him.

The general defending the east entrance to the central base went by the name of Riak. He was a well known swordsman who carried a 500 kilogram sword easily. He was also known for using fire magic and being the strongest out of the four generals...

The group walked forward with no discernible formation. Mortimer the appointed "leader" of the group was tasked with leading a ragtag group of rejects and wanderers with destroying a military outpost. Mortimer didn't know why they were fighting, or what they were doing it for. Something about one diplomat making an off comment about the dress of the grand matriarch of some-place which was misinterpreted by the duke of somewhere and from there things had just spiraled out of control. Lines were drawn by factions seeking gain through threat of a conflict. Then crossed by those who were afraid that the "other side" might attack first. It was a common event in the history of what was commonly referred to as the "Magical World".

Like all conflicts two major "sides" came up, each of whom marshaled their forces and drafted the best mages they could. Namely, the conglomeration of people with fair enough reputations that they were considered for, and placed in, a strike force. Namely, them. They were now 200 meters from the front of the outpost. A distance which the bored sparse lookouts could now easily see. From there it didn't take them long to set up their defenses. In less than thirty seconds almost the entirety of the fortresses ranged combatents had mounted the fifty foot high wall and were charging spells and readying weapons. Combining their efforts the defenders began their attack firing off over a thousand shots of magic, bullets, enchanted arrows and the like, all aimed at the group. On the broad open plain they were clear and easy targets for the fortresses marksmen.

As the launch proceeded Mortimer tilted his head and looked over the few people he had been allotted for the task. "If you want to live then start defending yourselves." As he said this his form shifted and rippled before breaking apart into a myriad of bats, each easily small enough to avoid the rain of projectiles by itself. Flying up and separating to get an ariel view and watch as the attacks headed for where he used to be. However callow and self-serving his own evasion of the enemies attack had been, he hadn't left the troops alone to save himself. He COULD have expended more energy creating a trench of some kind for them to hide behind but that would have only been a delay as they would be worn down before they could reach the fortress... What he wanted, was to see who if any of the people he was leading were SMART enough to defend themselves in this situation. If they couldn't well...they would have been a liability and wouldn't have been worth keeping around. Still, he was curious, how would each of them act to stay alive in the face of an overwhelming ranged assault.

Drake had followed his group leader into combat, Mortimer he believed his name was, for a war in Bosporus by an unknown employer. Drake assumed he didn't know about his family history and even if the employer did know he wasn't really concerned with it, but what did matter was the fact that his leader had left in the face of direct danger.

Right before Mortimer had scrambled into a legion of bats he had said "If you want to live then start defending himself." as a barrage of magic, arrows, bullets and more fired at the group. Now he was royally pissed off. "You traitorous little bastard! How dare you abandon your team! Once I make it out of here i'm gonna serve your sorry ass on gold platter!" Drake's temper has gotten the better of him once again and he was determined to take out his team leader, but before that he had to get out of the upcoming onslaught of ranged attacks.

He was almost stunned by the sheer power of the spells but thought, formulated, and simulated a plan in a mere 10 seconds. He had calculated that he had another 20 seconds before the attack had made it to him just enough time for his plan to take effect, he grabbed his staff of his back and made it into a broom running straight towards the barrage using his skills he ad acquired during his training in Italy and toke off. While in the air he quickly stood on his broom and avoided most of the attacks sent at him, flipping over around and spinning on his broom an arrow scratched his arm, 2 bullets skidding on his legs, and a magic attack had stunned him for 5 seconds but he quickly regained his composure and flew out of the attack. Even though he was out of relative harm he still had to attend to his minor wounds.

Najiko as usual was one of the most adaptable ones in the fight, dodging and weaving every arrow or spell sent at her. "Missed me!" She shouted out to several guys as she produced a bone sword, running at them and slashing them with it. While she was good at distracting due to her talent at dodging, she couldn't take out the stronger units on the battlefield without help.

Aliidan, being her usual ditzy self, silently cast her Terra Incognita, instantly melding with the surroundings. She would be safe, pretty much, unless she was hit by a stray shot or spell... Silently making her way around she looked for a weak spot to blast to smithereens with one of her powerful spells...

Turns Left for Terra Incognita: 6.

Rie, not really wanting to be there and not fully understanding why she had been chosen, held herself back, intent on acting field medic with her Clear Tranquil...

Illa decided to enact sniper role with her huge Railgun since her Gunblade didn't reach far enough and she couldn't just rush in... taking up a position she raised her railgun to her shoulder, scope to one eye and aimed at one of the viewports of the fortress, zooming in she squeezed the trigger, the 15mm Tungsten bullet smashing into the viewport at tremendous speed.

From base camp, Umi was able to reach each of the groups with his long-range telepathy spell. He had come up with a basic strategy to apply to the situation for each of the groups.

"We're going for the basic offensive strategy, we're penetrating the inside of this facility. This is not a widely publicized event, the Senators are keeping this hushed up. Because of this, our enemy, an illegal weapons trader, cant bring in his big guns, this makes it the best time to strike. Will's group is running interference now, so your group can break straight through the walls of the fortress at its weakest point. Al as leader, will be conducting the forward assault by breaking through form the front. Capture the gatehouse in order to move forward without threat of ambush. ALSO AL, GIVE THEM SOME SHADOW ARMOUR! "

Mortimer was actually impressed by the one riding on his broom. Rather than waiting or constructing a barricade, he'd charged straight in, avoiding the worst damage and choosing to suffer minor pains where he could rather than just dodge everything. He was smart apparently...Mortimer like that. Meanwhile the rest of the squad didn't seem to be doing so well.

Najiko was acting like a child as ever. Still over a hundred meters from the fortress she attempted to charge straight at i. It helped that she was cutting through the better part of the bolts aimed at her but that wasn't nearly enough as several saggitta magica hit her hard in the stomach.

Aliidan had from Mortimers persepctive, turned invisible. Maybe not the best tactic as volleys were being launched at them blindly but still enough to get her points. Unbeknownst to Mortimer, she had managed to survive the first volley wave with little more than a few cuts and scraps. She would be fine.

Rie fell back trying to stay as far from the main conflict as possible, still that did not protect her completely. A stray enchanted arrow carried by the winds made its way over the vast majority of the volley before landing in her left shoulder, which soon began to feel very cold. Had she looked at the arrow, she would have seen a thin layer of ice spreading from it and beginning to cover her joint in frost.

Illa made a good show of her own focusing entirely on attack. The round flew true across the battlefield and into the kidney of one of the people in the guard tower. She had managed to wound one of them and therefore take out three others who would have to tend to the person. Still, by not focusing at all on her own defense she suffered for it more than the others. Getting grazed by a bullet on her cheek in addition to being pummeled by almost a dozen saggitta magica bolts, she might have been out of commission had she been any weaker but thanks to her high constitution, her pains would only result in large black and blue bruises.

Mortimer winced as the telepathic broadcast from Umi hit him. "Medic" he thought back to Umi with just a hint of bitterness "Could you do me a small favor...and NOT micromanage my platoon. Thanks" After mentally hanging up on Umi Mortimer got back to work, deciding that he'd assessed the strength of his troops enough. Reforming into a human, Mortimer stood on the air via a shundo and began casting furiously. Before the enemy could fire their next volley, Mortimer had summoned up a dozen basketball sized spheres with long barrels sticking out of them. Allowing himself to fall back to the ground he ordered the spheres to fire on the ramparts seeking to draw the attention away from himself and his platoon. For the moment it seemed to work as the next wave was aimed high at the much higher, retalitating spheres. For now, the spheres had the ultimate high ground.

Mortimer landed back on the ground at the median point of the scattered troops, seeming to signal that they should form around him. They would have to act fast as Mortimers "distraction", wouldn't last long. In the middle of his signaling to his "subordinates", he realized that they mgiht be a tad angry at him for seeming to leave them there to die...he wondered how they would react to his return to the battelfield...oh well, he'd have to wait until they got back to him. Once they did however, he would actually be able to deliver a plan to them.

Drake watched as the rest of his squad scattered, one team member charging into the attack while the others staying behind for offensive and defensive purposes. He was still afloat on his broom when an archer saw him and shot a flaming arrow at him, he barley had enough time to dodge the arrow so a piece of his cloth caught on fire. He swooped down off his broom, with a slightly panicked look on his face, and grabbed a small bottle of water from his equipment belt to put out the fire, that was when he heard a telepathic communication from the chief healer about the basic attack.

He didn't respond back but understand the strategy well enough. He also saw Mortimer made a signal for the squad to regroup around him, finally Drake can teach the so called "leader" a thing or two now. He put his staff back onto his back and walked towards Mortimer with very angry, very enraged look on his face.

Aliidan arrived safely within striking distance of the wall, well out of the place where even a stray bullet or arrow would be unable to hit her and immidiately began charging up her Nova Electrica, she'd pump as much magic as she possibly could and blow the whole wall down... And if that failed, she'd just withdraw from the whole battle. She was not a military person, she was a civilian. As the spell began charging the thick feeling of static was felt by all but nobody could pinpoint the source.

Turns Left for Terra Incognita: 5.

Rie hated being here and again asked herself why she had been chosen. It made Absolutely no sense, taking civilians along on a military campaign. Non-combatants she could understand, but Rie was and would most likely always be, a civilian. As she was struck by the ice arrow she felt her whole arm go numb as a light frosting began to cover her joint, Rie quickly yanked the arrow out and threw it away in distaste. She really hoped the commanding officer knew what he was doing, because Rie really didn't have any idea what to do. Moving further back, to prevent similar injuries she knew she limited her field medic effectiveness but Rie just did not care.

Illa had never thought she would make quite such a nice target that everyone would have to pelt her with magic, a faint metallic taste filled her mouth as she managed to get out of sight behind her slightly elated position. She was trained in combat, by some of the best Guardians in the world, but that didn't mean she was equiped to handle fullscale war. Her whole body ached, a dull throb most prominent in the areas where she had been struck. She suspected she had broken at least one rib and had gotten a minor fracture on a few more.

Saijun had apparently gone completely unused by his wielder, which was pretty much the exact opposite reason for his being there. Though, he could summon himself and would do so as he felt Rie to be in danger, appearing in front of her as an arrow hit him square in the chest. ”You really should watch out…” he suggested, while he was immune to physical death at the moment, being wounded in this form would still lower his effectiveness in battle. Pulling out the arrow he glanced back. ”Did you actually want some help?” he offered.

Rie bowed in appology, she had not wished to inflict harm on anyone, not even someone who could have almost no harm come to him. "I am sorry. I do not wish to inflict harm... In truth, I don't even know why I am here, I'm a civilian, not a military person... If you should desire to fight I will not stop you but I also will not aid you in this." Rie spoke quietly, trying to stem the flow of blood from her arrow wound where the frost had long since melted away.

Apparently only one of the troops had deemed to approach him. Sighing Mortimer knelt down on the ground touching his shadow. He had a feeling as to what they would send out next and he needed everyone ready for it.

Placing his hands on his shadow, the darkness began to move and writhe out of step with his own form. He could only do this for three of them... especially since most had decided to ignore his signals. Had they all heeded him they might have been able to benefit from this but now... now he would just have to improvise. With sudden movements, three broad lines extended from the circular form of shadow beneath him extending to three of the assault squad.

The first flew at Arthas...or rather, in his direction. The line aimed for his shadow, and had it connected Arthas would find his shadow standing up behind him before grasping his body and flowing around him. He would soon find himself coated in an armor of shadow. Chainmail armor to be precise. Thick boots, greaves and guantlets would have covered his arms and legs, a strong but weightless breastplate protecting his chest, and tricorn hat adorning his head, reinforced by a strong skullcap. Because of his close proximity, Mortimer could make other changes as well; his dagger blades extending into weightless short swords of pitch blackness. The tips of his staff ringed by thorn like protrusions. And of course, curved sharp blades protruding from the toes of his boots.

The next shadow sought out Illa Loren. The shadow would have been a bit more subtle with her, covering her boots in darkness and sliding up her body to form what would have appeared to be a kevlar vest in addition to thick fingerless gloves with a smooth metallic plate over her knuckles.

The last one flew out towards Rie, had it arrived at her, it would be much more simplistic than the others, little more than a large bullet shaped casing with a small slit with which to see through. It wouldn't permit her to attack but the mobile pillbox would allow her to move and would hopefully protect her from the upcoming fight.

The gatehouse opened next and dozens of infantrymen rushed out in strict formations, each seeking the heads of the small wounded assault force.

Aliidan, carefully hidden in plain sight right next to the wall, continued charging her nova elctrica, she would blast down the gatehouse and then withdraw from the battle. Just a little more...


Turns Left for Terra Incognita: 4.

Illa looked over the mound of dirt that had become her Sniping position and protection against the arrows, bullets and whatnot and saw the infantry deploying, they would have a hard time reaching Illa, even with magic support. Once more raising her railgun she took aim at what she assumed was the commanding officer of one group, blasting his head off before taking aim and doing the same to another squad leader. Being a sergeant in the now Defunct Guardian Corps of Bosporus meant she was fully aware of how chaotic it could be when squads lost their commanding officers.

"I have a few words for you "leader"! I'm going to-" Drake was caught off guard by a sudden dark line aiming for him until the line connected to his shadow, standing up behind him and grasping his entire body. Drakes shadow flowed around his entire body shaping into many forms, chainmail armor underneath his normal robe and a breastplate over the robe. He also acquired pitch black gauntlets, with spiked finger tips almost like claws, his boots became thicker and was reinforced by black greaves and sharp, curved blades protruded from his toes lastly a tricorn hat with red lining and a skullcap replaced his hood. The final change or improvement was that his daggers became short swords made up of complete shadows and the tip of his staff lined with thorns.

Drake looked over his new armor and weapons for a moment with awe looking over it until realizing he was in the middle of a war. He shook his head and took his staff off his back taking a running start and eventually flying over the battlefield, he swooped in down and jumped off his broom. He landed on a lone infantry solider stabbing him in the neck with his wrist blade surprising the warriors, grabbing one of his swords and starting his attack.

Aliidan needed just a few more moments before her electric spell would unleash a devastating explosion of electric energy, hopefully blasting the gatehouse to smithereens and allowing the next step, whatever that was, of the war plan. By the second the static became thicker and thicker in the air.


Turns Left for Terra Incognita: 3.

[Sorry for the late post]

Hoshiko kept her distance from everyone of them since she was not familiar to any of them but was rather curious instead which to start off with, she actually tailed someone from the group to this certain area and now within the current situation, she is lost on what she should do. She just remained hidden behind trees, giant rock and whatever that was big enough to hide her from danger.

Danger was almost everywhere as both side were firing at each other. She obviously knew which were the good guys but still she intends to hide her presence and pray that she doesn't be so unfortunate for he cover to be struck by some massive force of magic.

Unfortunately for Aliidan, the increasingly powerful electrical discharges were becoming more noticeable. Visible to the naked eye and producing the unmistakable scent of ozone people on the wall were beginning to detect her. Stepping out at the tail end of one of the last platoons, one soldier in particular noticed something amiss. Breaking off from the formation, the soldier rounded the bend and saw the lightning crackle. Knowing it had to be magic of some kind he drew his sword shouting "Freeze" at the apparent ball of lightening.

Illa began her sniping at the commanders ending some of their lives. Unfortunately this didn't stop them. A few placed their fingers to their helmets. Magical telepathy. They could recieve orders from anyone anywhere even if their field officers were taken down. Seeing her as one of the greater visible threatsTwo platoons broke off towards herin strict formation, deflexio barriers forming a mobile carapace of armor. It would be much harder for her bullets to hit the three currently on their move towards her.

Four more platoons moved towards Mortimer and Arthas, their weapons drawn as they marched forward, many of them seeming to charge their weapons with Saggitta magica. Soon they would be in range, first firing bolts of magical energy before entering into melee combat and imobilizing them. That is of course, unless something was done to stop them.

The final five squadrons seemed to circle around the main force, broken up into smaller less noticable groups. They were heading for the rear of the conflict and would seek to form a pincer between the invaders and the wall in one fell swoop. UNfortunately, or perhaps, fortunately, the squadrons were heading in the direction of the people who had deemed to fall back. Hoshiko, completely exposed on the vast plain despite her vain attempts at finding shelter behind nonexistant rocks and trees, as well as Saijun and Rie, acting as a personal bodyguard and a medic respectively. The people who fell back would perhaps have the biggest challenge but they might also be the deciding factor in the assault teams victory.

(What Ball of Lightning? O.o?? I'll play along with that for now, but Aliidan's spells are not visible as a ball of lightning >.>;)

Aliidan, not prepared for anyone to take notice of her, jumped in fright and lost control of her magic spell, the lightning exploding too soon, incinerating the guy who had scared her, a couple of more guys a few feet away and blasting a huge dent in the gatehouse. Well... It worked, kinda... In adition to the immidiate damage Aliidan's unique and volatile magic spread out in an EMP like effect, disrupting magic use of any kind for both sides, sure if one was strong enough they might punch through the effects but Aliidan doubted there were anyone among the enemy (She still didn't get who they were) that strong. Her mission a failure Aliidan decided to just withdraw from the battle, stradling her staff and Shooting off towards the basecamp, far, FAR too fast for anyone to be able to hit her by the time the magic was back to normal. (Wich will be about, three posts-ish)

From where the main enemy force spread out, even more troops poured. Eventually, however, a sense of foreboding saturated the air. Suddenly, the soldiers parted, making way for a Goliath of a man, carrying a massive sword on his back, cape aflutter in the madness of battle.

"So, you dare to attack my fortress appointed to me by the High One? Foolish..." The man said quietly. "Here me now!" his intimidating voice roared out, stopping all movement. "You will not be attacked if you surrender now! I am a man of justice, and I'd like to avoid bloodshed...at first..."

Drake was surrounded. There were dead bodies all around him many with stab wounds and slashes on they're bodies, Drake was also injured with bruises, cuts, scratches and blood running down the side of his body. One of the soldiers came charging at Drake he side steeped and stabbed the guy in the neck with his hidden blade, another attacked while he was off guard behind him so he stabbed him in the stomach after those two were taken care off three more charged at him. He blocked one attack and threw him to the ground, he then side kicked the other stabbing him with his foot blade in the head, the last attacker came at him with a massive broadsword Drake blocked it but is hidden blade brook off leaving only a portion left.

Drake was left on the ground from the massive strength of the hammer while 4 more squads surrounded him. He was virtually defenseless. He solemnly thought to himself that this was the end for him the soldiers charging saggitta magica attacks and ready to fire. But out off into the distance he could see a charge of lightning exploding into a white EMP like effect, the soldiers charging the saggitta magica fired but it disapparated midshot, while the soldiers were in confusion of this Drake took the chance to get out his second sword stabbing one of the troops and sweeping another onto the ground. He was yet again on the attack when he heard a huge roar across the battlefield the leader of the enemy forces has appeared.
