No, there names that come from Esoteric Buddhism, something very few people outside of Shingon sects or the Japanese know about.

That is unless you are willing to wade through a number of obscure wikipedia entries with even more obscure names and references lol

Jusanbutsu sounds nicer, and Vajracana even more ominous. we dont need an outright evil organization, Angels and Demons and by extent good and evil are a mostly western belief, other societies dont say anything is pure good or evil, just parts of life that govern how you should live: Buddhism refers to sin and happiness, and how you should live without total sin or total happiness. By using eastern belief and views, we contradict the mostly western Magic World, our goal essentially, and what we do doesnt always end up totally good or totally evil, just another path taken to achieve what we want to. Thats why i came up with it.

It sounds good and I like the explanation via eastern philosophy (something I'm not particularly familiar with) but it just seems like we would be alienating quite a few people who do have that polarized mindset in which good and evil exists along a continuim. Besides, what I think we should go for here is simplicity, and realy, what's in a name? A rose by any other name and all that BS. Besides, I think it would be alot better if we didn't actually have a formalized name, structure or hierarchy. In that way, the rest of the magic world is free to make up names for our organization and judge us based on our actions, not our message

We arent alienating people, we just chose a right to suit our needs, the thing that brings us together is to achieve our goals, whether good or evil, everyone here is morally gray, and willing to go against the "good characters" because we have different beliefs. Im saying were taking a different path not quite good but not entirely evil. while not quite Buddhism, i like the names, ok we'll use them for the Operation and wont use them ever again, after that we can all make out own codenames deal?

Didn't you say we were going to make code names just with the operation?

Yes but if were going to be doing illegal activites, we'll need codenames in general to keep our identities hidden, and the naming situation i just PM'ed you Kitty.

Sounds good to me... but you know what I think...Besides Isort of had this idea that there is a sort of factionilization occurring in the student body right now. Similar to what occurs at the Magic school found in Muhyo and Roji's Bureau of supernatural investigation. Basically the division is between the "perfect" or "god-moded" students who all are briming with natural talent and become incredibly powerful really fast... then there are us, essentially normal people who do not have that "natural power" who must work agonizingly slowly and progresivly to become more powerful. As such, we have don't have the luxury to sit on top of our noble high-horse and save the day... instead we must turn to more dishonest methods in order to keep pace with the naturally talented students...

And P.S. my goal is to not do work.. MRS for Mortimer is more like a stern tolerance right now as he has yet to fully trust any of them...

Ill keep MRS and Evil people as allies for a now, since i know our groups wont fully integrate because they do have the inherit goodness in them. MRS in general follows the ideal, but the bad rap were gonna get will cause a rift between morally gray and evil characters.

What you got against rumor %*@!? Couldn't we just be US with randomly assigned code names to ensure anonymity... Odds are if a codename is actually purposefully assigned then those could be used as clues to figure out just who we are...

yes but if you dont know WHY its a codename it doesnt need to be a clue. Besides it to use between organization members, besides it would tell that its someone whose aware of Esoteric Buddhism, which is a lot of people, those in sects and most japanese know what they are, and that still leaves ALOT of people, i chose the name cause it was obscure. It doesnt reflect us in anyway.

Well we should have a group name, but like you said before, Alberio, if others wish to call us something else then that's fine too. And I think our codenames should be based on characteristics.

Black nights have been done to death honestly, and Jusanbutsu sounds like it'll get lost in translation pretty fast. For the moment how about we just call ourselves the demon clan and make it ironic that we are all named after buddahs?

But if our codenames are based on characteristics than we will be easier to identify... never underestimate the tenacity of law enforcement, those guys will grasp at straws to find anything relevant. And what exactly will we be dressing up as to disguise our identities?

Then it gives away our identities by have symbolic codenames, I got the idea for Code Geass, and Demon Clan is so cliche, Jusanbutsu would be more ironic...... or maybe call oursleves Myo'o, or the Ryu-ju-go. Nothing specific, only battle outfits with a mask that covers the face so we dont give ourselves away. or maybe in mage clothes
