Drachma

Drachma is the currency used in the magic world of Negima. Drachma is obtained through missions and give to you by global moderators who grade your missions. Only playable characters will be awarded drachma and magic points through missions. When you go to the human world, your Drachma is automatically converted to the currency of the country you’re going to, however this only occurs to people who enter the human world legally. If you enter the human world illegally, you have to earn yen, dollars or similar currencies through your own work and missions.

Jewels are used to buy everything and anything. Though you can earn items and money through missions, you mostly, would have to buy items with your drachma.

To train your character, on special occasions, you may have to spend Drachma to get added magic points you gain from a mission. However, as a consequence, you do not obtain any drachma when graded.
