Roleplay Code of Conduct;
1. God-modding Nobody likes it so please don't try it.
a. Stats- We all know that the stat system is a general guideline but still it must be adhered to. If you have 11 stamina and you get hit by someone with 25 strength, you are most likely going to be severely injured so don't just "shrug it off" or act like it doesn't affect your character at all, because it most certainly will. Also, if you have 17 speed and are being attacked by someone with 18 accuracy, you may not get hit. Key word there being MAY. However, if you have 17 speed and the person attacking you has 30 accuracy they are at the very LEAST going to hit you in a spot which will deal damage. So please, take damage when you should, don't avoid EVERY attack, allow yourself to be hurt and just don't go way overboard with what your characters abilities are... okay?
b. Techniques- All techniques you have must deal damage or have effects as they are listed in your character profile. Having a rank 3 technique deal damage as if it were a rank 6 is just bad form and unfair to the other players. Also using techniques you don't have or having pre-existing techniques with affects it didn't have before. But perhaps most important of all is that you must DECLARE you are using techniques. Instantly having clones or whatnot appear does NOT WORK. This is not Naruto people, and we don't have any replacement jutsu here without the other person having a chance to detect it.
c. Auto hitting- Do not auto hit the person you are attacking. Basically, you can never say "I hit this person". ANy attack or movement you make is an ATTEMPT. You can say "I fired a shot at him" or "I made to cut off his head" but the point to remember is that you cannot outright say that an attack was successful. That is for the other person to confirm in their following post and then apply the damage dealt to them as ACCURATELY as possible. If a person is auto hitting or avoiding attacks when they reasonably should not be able to, please inform them of their actions first and if they fail to correct the action THEN you may contact a mod to sort out the problem. Make a small attempt to work things out before involving a mod as they are busy and have lives too.
d. Omniscience- Your character doesn't have it, no matter how powerful they are. Your character does not know that the person sitting next to them is the long lost heir to an ancient bloodline because it is hinted in their profile. Meta-gaming and using out of character knowledge is illegal and at the VERY least you must role-play through a logical thought process as to how your character came to a conclusion about the other persons character. Try having the other person tell you about their character and THEN you might know something about them. This same rule also applies in combat. If a person has a weapon hidden up their sleeve your character cannot "know" that it is there. You can be suspicious that they are up to no good but you may not instantly know the weapons or abilities of a person you are meeting. Regarding player versus player. As stated before, there's absolutely no meta-gaming or godmodding. Not only that, but you cannot use techniques that aren't in your characters profile, even if you learnt them through player verus player. This also includes using NPC's. You may not use non-playable characters to aid you in a fight unless they have a profile.
2. In Role-play Don't spoil the party by adding your own soundtrack
a. Asking permission-Although not absolutely necessary, it is still good manners to at least PM the person who made the thread before joining it. Unless specified otherwise, please do not jump into threads without at least notifying the person and receiving a confirmation that joining would be acceptable.
b. The story- Threads have the primary goal of creating a story and a random person popping in can completely derail it or destroy any sense it made. Please go along with the story so far and don't try and steal someone else's spotlight. You will have your chance in the future to make your own "big hit" with the people you surround yourself with. Don't break focus or take apart a well-crafted story by a "random attack" or "luke I am your father" thing. Talk with the person who created the thread and who is primarily crafting the story BEFORE you throw a monkey wrench into the works.
c. Be accurate- and I don't mean with stats either. Unless established beforehand, your character does NOT have knowledge of ancient ruins, canNOT hack into any computer system in the world and canNOT travel in between the magic and normal world whenever they want. Bottom line, don't try and be, do or act out of character, this applies to both your characters personality as well as their abilities. Please don't break character and keep the OOC discussion to an absolute MINIMUM.
3. Profanity
a. Swearing- Your character may swear here, however please keep it tasteful and appropriate. We appreciate the occasional swear now and then to accentuate the characters personality but please try and censor yourself in this regard. Adding stars or symbols where certain letters might be is acceptable on this board but don't abuse this privilege... and it is a privilege. Also we here are an open minded community and do not discriminate people based on their race, religious creed, lifestyle choice, sexual orientation, political beliefs etc. As such, please do not outright insult anyone about these things or use racial-ethnic or cultural slurs of any kind.
b. Sex- Yes we all need to talk about it. In the roleplay sex, sexuality and couples are a big deal, we all know it. However please don't come here to act out your perverted fanboy (or fangirl as the case may be) fantasies. Keep that stuff in M-rated fanfiction. Still it is not outright taboo. You may allude to things happening "off-stage" with the consent of all parties involved. Nudity is allowed but please keep it to "he was stripped naked by the rogue blast" and do not describe anything in too graphic of detail. We are all adults here so you may say that it happened, but please don't describe.
c. Harassment- Please do not spam people unnecessarily. Do not post one line messages of pointless actions or PM a person excessively. If you are wondering whether or not you are harassing a person, include a line asking them if you are bothering them in your next PM. Don't stalk people, don't jump into every active thread and don't keep pestering them to do this or that. Do not threaten people or make any hostile remarks meant solely to provoke someone even if it is in good humor. Bottom line, if you wouldn't want another person doing it to you, don't do it to them. If a moderator may be abusing or harassing you guys, you are allowed to message me or another moderator who will take proper action.
