Your rank is determined by how popular or famous you get throughout your characters adventure. All characters start at D-Rank and will have to work their way up. Groups formed will be highly based on these ranks to encourage each other, which if the members in the group have a high rank, the group will also spike up in fame.
D-Rank: You’re someone almost no one knows, a beginner mage. Everyone starts out like this. You can only do low rank missions, with C being the highest. You’re not very trusted to do work, but if they’re in a pinch, you’ll be hired.
C-Rank: When dubbed good enough, moderators will assign you a tough mission to complete with your friends or by yourself. You need 50 SP at the least to become a C-Rank magician. People will recognize you for doing something immense and they do trust you to do missions, however you’re definitely not first on their list and if you fail; there’ll be consequences.
B-Rank: People of high caliber who have a requirement of 100 SP to become this rank. You’ve become renown throughout the magic world; most people recognize you and a lot of people trust you with jobs. After getting 100 SP, you have to destroy a troubling organization that’s been bestowed territory in every country throughout the magical world… They’re considered a huge threat to light mages; so if you defeat a guild and show your strength, you will be announced a B-Rank magician.
A-Rank: Magicians that are near the top of the list, they’re strong, knowledgeable and can participate in almost any mission with successful results. They need an SP total of 200 or more and must have at least five partners to help you. You’re so well known your name spreads to dark mages; when they spot you, they want to kill you. You’re considered a huge threat to dark mages, but a hero among light mages, so watch out.
S-Rank: Magicians that are said to participate in any mission and triumph over it are dubbed this rank. They’re the strongest mages in the universe and had to undergo a harsh trial set out to them. Dark mages now avoid you because of your strength and many often come looking for your power and give you outrageous deals for money… People say it’s the perfect life for a mage.

You can only take your partners that you have created a pactio with on these trails or missions to upgrade your characters rank. Even if they have less than the requirement; they’re allowed to join. However, even if they complete the mission successfully, they will not become that said rank until they also get the SP requirement.
They could also choose to do another mission when they hit S-Rank themselves.
Right now, it’s called ‘Class’ in the character profiles, but we’re looking to change it as soon as possible.
