Personality
Azurath has many personality traits Emi does, but he represents a calmer more stable side of her. He thinks more logically, disliking Emi's pranks but often going along with them for sake of pleasing his 'sister'. He is more open towards people, and less nervous.

History
Azurath shares quite a bit of history with Emi, expect that he saw less of a Father in Goro because he already had the intelligence to understand what was happening to him. Nevertheless he genuinely has seen Emi as almost a sister, for they've spent more than a decade together and defended each other with their lives. He had hoped these past few months that the death of Emi's 'father' would change her ways more positively. But those hopes of his were dashed.
