Since we're often playing in the main town (still wondering about how to call it) I though it would be interresting to create an open place for everyone, sort of a place where most of things could be found etc...

To be more precise, I'm thinking of my character opening a bar (don't laugh !).
Since I'm not thinking of doing it half assed, I'll create everything : each important NPC(I'll give them a personality, so it would become possible to interract with them etc..., the decor etc... It would finally give a logic way for player to interract with NPC (like information gathering, mercenary, etc...) Moreover it could also become a gathering point, because when someone start a topic, all the one that want to join just pop out a nowhere. Someone who want to start a mass topic could just recruit here.

Finally, I also think of implanting a underground fighting area. With an arena that could be modified (like add rock, water or whatever you like), cleric, so it will become possible to make sparing duel with true PvP rule without having to worry about the damage your character take.


Concerning the bar background, I though of making it a neutral zone, where big shot, criminal and adventurer of all kind can be found. A no fight zone where you could meet the NPC you want since you can just add who you want.

Concerning the arena, I also intend to create a ranking to keep a trace of the duel, the winner taking the position of the looser.

Finally, I though of also using the arena to create a rank based progression, like someone can go on, fight after fight, with the power of the opponent going up when the rank go up. For this too, I'll create fighting template for the opponent (NPC like : rank 1 10/5/5/15/5 with following technique (....), rank 2 ...)
Making so that everyone might be able to mesure his strengh in a PvP fight against NPC; Since we'll apply PvP rules, it might be interresting to see who can go the farther before loosing.


So, what do you think of it? DOes it sound interresting? I'll put some work into it so I want to hear your opinion to. It could be something really interresting, but it'll take some time to be perfect through

The bar doesnt sound bad, but the Arena is a legal sport in Negima, given that its entirely optional and no one really gets hurt

Yep, but the idea was to have a common arena, and the ranking will be displayed into the bar.

Either me make it free, or low cost, and we'll cut things like special income to make it fair.
Either I pay full price, but the bar will gave me my pocket money ^^

You're comparing a flying battle ship with canon and barier, spacious enough to lodge 4 people and a bar into the skid row with an underground room where people can fight? Don't make me laught.

10 million Drachma? Thats not a lot, but even then the bar would cost some, and you can just post rankings from the actual arena, but i dont think we have enough people willing to create an underground arena without like 20 people, otherwise its just one person rocking all the small teams

The arena isn't just a PvP one. It'll also be a PvE one with PvP rules. I'll create standart PNJ (one per level, level 50being the strongest one). And each charac will have his progression recorded.

Since it'll apply PvP rules, every charac will get into a wall after a few level at start, and will be able to pass it later.

There's already an Arena, it seems pointless to have a underground LEGAL sport, which would not make nearly as much money as if you bet on actual Arena matches. We dont have enough people to create our own Arena's, limit it to the standard arena since it already allows for PvE and PvP

The bar is interesting, it shouldn't cost much, as long as you make sense for it, it may not even cost at all. (Eg. The school supplying a building for Umi's research society).

And as Umi said, once the forum gets split into places like Ostia, Vepseria and such, I doubt there's any use for an underground arena, considering Ostia itself has a very popular arena, that Negi and Rakan themselves fought together in. The barrier is also able to withstand the force of Rakan's attack, so no one on the forum could even crack it.

Also underground arena are quite famous for their black market, like bet without any tax, and forbidden things being sold.

Also, since nearly nobody have made themselves a place to stay since Everlast destruction. It could provide at the same time some jobs and place to stay for player.

It's a community project for everyone use.

The Ostia Arena allows anyone as they're competitors. Even children can fight in it, simply because it just tests the combatants strength, the combatants aren't there to kill and slaughter each other. Also, to participate, it IS free. Many people pay to watch, while the winner earns money themselves.

Yeah, it's not oepn at night time. But, I'm certain betting is also allowed at the arena. It's not a place for bloodthirsty people, it's just there to enjoy seeing a good fight amongst mages/fighters.

True, forbidden things and hardcore betting (who kills who) and stuff would be in your underground one, but who would do it? I think only the dark mages would participate in something like that and that's a pretty scarce amount.

Ostia's arena was pretty good, but it didnt have a barrier, that was made specifically for Rakan's fight so that he didnt destroy everyone.

Granicus also has an arena, hell most of the towns on the Elysium Continent have Arena's in them. All of them free, voluntary and includes rankinngs, killing people is allowed, but it doesnt happen often because people concede first. Again, Why have an underground sport when its legal, free and already has people betting on it?

Maybe I was wrong about using the word "under ground" is "under the ground" gave more meaning to what I wanted to tell? It's just a amateur arena in the cellar.
