Umi had done it. He had successfully managed the spell he had been working on for months. His pet-project had finally come to fruition. Careful adjustments of the runes and gentle adimixtures of alchemy, science and magic had resulted in a gateway through time. Forward and back between a place ten years in the future.

Confidant in his new creation and eager to test it out, Umi stepped through the arch. Emerging on the other side they were now ten years in the future on the same spot they had just left. In the ruins of Utopia red panted cliffs and grey-black skies surrounded them. But somehow everything was slightly... different.

Even as he noted this, numerous riders on steal brooms bore down on them casting detainment spells enmasse at each member of the group. Each wore a distinctive armor and uniform, almost like the ariadan knights of old but somehow... more modern.

Had he tried to turn back to the portal he would find it blocked by a rapidly cast, yet surprisingly strong, septuple layered barrier. Whoever they were, they were not messing around.

If Umi did'nt hurry then he would soon find himself trapped and buried under the dozens of containment spells all around them.

"Mobiliter"

Increasing the performance rate on his staff, Umi used ESP to track a course through the apprehension shots, he could tell they were Globus Captan rounds, meant strictly for capture, and if they were seeking to trap him, then the only thing he had to do was run before they brought out the attack spells. Tracking a spinning evasion through the shots, Umi got through the barrage and floored it towards the mountain ranges.

"Maxima Accelerat!"

Umi leaned closer to the staff, gripping the bottom of the staff he exploded forward at incredible speeds. Umi's unique style of riding his broom/staff, a stance similar to that of a surfers, while the stance allowed him to drift in and out of attacks smoother, but as he shrunk his body and shifted his barriers to a Flight-Risk style barrier he got a blast of speed greater than normal, leaving the knights in his dust.

The knights were alarmed with shock at Umi’s sudden burst of speed, however it’s not like they weren’t ready for such situations. Magic lances in hand, one of the soldiers muttered a direct order in capturing this man alive, as they take chase in a high-speed race. Before long, the knights had prepared a long-ranged capture spell that aims seal the enemy in a compressed magic ball, sealing them shut.

“Get him!” The captain of the brigade roars, as they take the plan to action. Though Umi’s broom would be equal or even faster than the soldiers themself, they specialized in capturing a target no matter the distance. As a massive wave of magical power is cast in a circular range, the spell aimed to seal Umi in the centre of that said spell.

If all else failed, they were ready to take physical action into play.

GeroGero, Paries Maxima, Paries extendetes........Area Constet"


Umi converged all of his barriers onto a single point, a shield large enough to cover his body and telekinetically moved it in front of him. Trying to shield himself from the larger Globus Captans spell. This spell absorbed the apprehension shots of each of the magic knights and fused them together in order to give the spell more power and a wider range. If he did this just right, his barriers would cover him the exact moment of impact and deaden the power of the capture spell the exact moment it hit, and with another sharp boost of speed, he would escape it without much effort.

Just as Umi moved his barriers into place, the knights launched there spell, he gathered mana into his broom in order to keep going, he was sure he could take them down simply enough. The capture spells shot outward from the lances the users had, they gathered together and exploded outward with added strength as a swirling ball of magic power straight at Umi, the spells collided with his barriers, while it shattered his barriers, the attack spread out a little more and lost a lot of speed, Umi knew he could dodge it with one more acceleration.

"Maxima Accelera-!

Just as Umi began to say his incantation, he was struck by some unknown power, his mind began to grow hazy, his sense went haywire as he tried to focus. Umi tried to think clearly, but his mind was so befuddled that his thoughts just faded away, as hard as he tried to think, he could not, his mind went blank, his sense began to fade as he started to faint, he hoped the apprehension shot would catch him, because he was going to fall any second.
Just as he lost his footing on the broom, he had a split second of clarity: He knew what type of magic this was before everything went black

" Madness..."

It was not long before the knights had Umi in their custody. Calling for a quick transport two of them vanished with the now unconcious Umi hanging between them. The rest moved to secure the time-travel gateway for the arrival of "His Most Benevolent Enlightened One".

When Umi awoke he was in a holding cell... well one could hardly call it a holding cell given its constant moving. Had Umi looked around he would have found himself dressed in a white jump-suit stripped of all his possessions with an antimagic collar around his neck.

As far as he could tell he was in some kind of long rectangular box, the size of a shipping crate... but much cleaner. The walls were smooth white sheet metal and seemed to glow providing the room with its unending illumination. A White cot stuck out in the back attached to the wall, and sitting next to it a pristine white "floating" toilet.

There was clearly a theme of "white" and "pristine" going on here. The front of the box was a forcefield, technologically based, not magical. But it was transparent and Umi could see that he was not the only one in this situation. Stuck into the walls in a honeycomb fashion in a massive cylinder. Raising in the center of this massive "hive" of prisoners was a thin tower along which seemed to run an elevator with an extendable bridge. The controls for which were operated at the middle of the tower which stretched down to more holding cells.

Right now, all Umi could do was sit there and reflect on his situation.

Umi knew he was in an awful situation, but he could not help but feel slightly ashamed of the fact that he was struck by the power of that unexpected magic attack. Umi had clarity of thought in this room, so he began to plan further countermeasures against that sort of mind-based attack. Umi had researched into that particular type of magic, given he had the ability to control minds before he lost his original body. He looked into the topic and compiled a list of possible uses for a mind-based assault, but eventually scrapped the idea when he had lost the ability to use it.

"Insanity Magic... a unique type of mind-based magic, that afflicts and intimidates the mind with the power of discord. Whoever used it was a master of the technique, they werent anywhere within range of my ESP yet it still had such power. Its looks like my regular mind blocks wont work this time around, i should devise a greater counter... But i gotta get out of here first..."

Umi looked around the room, he had nothing he could exploit, even his body was forced into a physical structure thanks to the anti-magic collar around his neck. He had no magic power, he had no Ki. His weapons were taken away from him when he was arrested; he had very few options, and conventional tactics were not gonna work for him, he was forced to rely on the only power that he still had left, while he could not use magic, he could make use of his magic capacity.

"GUARD! I THINK THERE'S SOMETHING WRONG, MY EYES ARE BLEEDING!"


Luckily, there was actually a guard around here, Umi assumed that, given how long it took for him to get there, he was only guard around at the time. And that's all he would need to strike. He heard the guard steps down the hall as he approached the cell. He opened the cell and peered into it. Umi was on the bed, rubbing his eyes intently. The guard came to the bed cautiously, Umi made no attempt to notice the guards presence, seemingly wrapped up in his current predicament so the guard was forced to move closer. When the guard touched his shoulder, he feigned surprise, the fact his eyes were closer put the guard slightly on edge.

"Whats wrong? let me see"

He ordered Umi to open his eyes, and with a split second to get it right, Umi opened his eyes and looked directly into the eyes of the guard, who began to sweat profusely. While Umi could not manifest his power, it was still in his body, focused directly into his eyes, something the Ultimate Spirit of Water came up with as a sign of the contract, the entirety of its magic was centered into his eyes, his spirit powers fixed directly to his deep blue iris. The spirit told him to not let humans look directly into his eyes, as the power of the USOW within him would drive them insane. This human was no exception, his eyes began to bulge and his face began to quiver, he could not stop looking into Umi's eyes and if he didnt stop, he would indeed go mad from the monstrous power located within them.

Umi closed his eyes and the man was breathless, struck with such intense fear he could not move. A few tense moments later and the man regained some composure, enough to flee for his life out the door, fear taking priority over his orders, he had left the doors open as he escaped Umi's presence.

"Argh.... I hate doing that to people..."

Umi left through the open door and made his way down the hall the guard left from, which he assumed may be an exit, without his ESP, he had to rely on his regular senses and common sense.

THough Umi was now out of the cell he quickly reached the end of the platform coming to the still screaming guardsman and his rampant attempts to lower the lift as far away from there as possible. All the while mad mutterings of pain, evil and madness streamed out of his gibbering lips.

At last the code was entered correctly and the lift began moving downward to the exit. Without warning a short sound of static echoed from the mans belt asking "guard number fourteen, you have entered the incorrect code twice. Is everything alright".

The guard was startled by this but made no move to answer the call. The insane mutterings continued and saliva was begining to foam at his mouth corners after al the talking he was doing. The call was repeated again. If it remained that way the others might get suspicious. Of course as soon as the guards in the control-office saw the man they would know something was wrong. (NOTE; control is like antechamber for magnetos prison in X-men 2)

Umi had to think fast or risk being discovered before he made it out of the prison proper.

(Your move Umi. Think a very big X-men 2 prison but with more guards. KEep in mind that this room is very big and you can't really see the top or bottom of it... good luck )

"Into the next cell i guess."

Hiding in the cell closest to him, he noticed that the only prisoner inside of it was sleeping, so Umi had to be quite as struggled with removing the magical collar around his neck.

"Hmm... i better plan this out..."

Rushing to the far end of the platform, Umi jumped into one of the passing cells deactivating the forcefield as he did so.

Umi's struggles with his collar proved to no avail. He did however feel what seemed like a narrow slit, small put protruding. Enough for a thin card to slide through and unlock it. At least Umi now knew that "key" to his collar was in fact a "key card".

However his struggles had not gone unnoticed as the cell was currently occupied by what looked like a just waking up large bald man. Seeing Umi there, his eyes gleamed at the prospect. "Hey beautiful, why don't ya come over here and sit on dadies lap" Clearly the man was making a pass at Umi.

However the water-mage had failed to realize that his way down had just gone by. The man who had continued the trip would be admitted to the mental health ward temporarily and it would be several hours before he could speak coherrently about anything. Still, the problem remained as Umi was now trapped in a cell with an aggressive looking bald man and no way out.

"Oh Yoko would kick you ass for that.... But sure, if you can tell me what color my eyes are..."

Umi performed a similar trick on the inmate, but he stopped just long enough to leave him momentarily catatonic , he didnt need anymore people after him at this point, with the knowledge of the keycard in hand, he aimed for the only thing he could think of, calling for another guard. Just as he planned, the catatonic inmate finally regained his sense and began to scream as if he were witnessing his greatest fear. With that, he knew the guard would be coming. He leered at the crazed inmate again, leaving him once again unable to speak out of sheer terror

"If i can only keep him from going ape %*@! for a few more seconds...."

This time a team of two guards came up, opening the forcefield door as they did so.

Seeing the inmate and Umi there, one moved to restrain the inmate while the other withdrew his tazzer-gun and fired at Umi. Seeing the two of them in the same cell was obviously something which didn't happen in this prison.

(Get Will to play the guards here. Think basic cop-eauipment with military grade body-armor)

Ducking behind the larger inmate, he pushed the former cell of a man into the pair coming at them, the inmate completely lost it and went straight for the guards.

Th charging inmate was stopped short by the tazzer but still had enough momentum to pin one of the guards under his huge girth. It would take several minutes for the guard to extridite himself from underneath the now-in shock inmate while the other pulled out what appeared to be a billy club with lighting coursing up and down its length. A stun rod.

The guard swung the stunrod high overhead at Umi, but this was a diversion. In reality his off hand held a tazzer ready to fire its electrically charged pins into Umi. Even if Umi did evade the first blow he would be hit by the tazzer, and if he tried to avoid the tazzer the stun rod would come smacking into his temple. The unpowered mage would have to think of something fast or risk being electrocuted.

Umi lurched forward, sending all of his might towards the guard in reckless full bodied charge. He aimed his magical collar at the billy club taser. Hoping to sync it up just right, he twisted his neck so that the collar would come directly in contact with the taser's electric shock.

The taser collided with his body, sending volts of electricity coursing through his non-veins. Due to his body being made mostly of water, and electric attack diffused the molecules keep in his regular human shape, causing him to splatter as the tazer came in contact with his collar, the collar falling to the floor beneith them, Umi had sufficiently drenched the guard.

Using up his magic reserves to only reform his hand, the water pooled up on the guards uniform, before slinking its way up his chest, coming to where his neck was, reforming his hand, he pushed his index finger against the man's trachea, and threatened to apply pressure to it.

"Back off or I'll kill you...."

"All glory to his The Benevolent Enlightened One" The guard said as he futilely tried to escape Umi's grasp around his neck.

However he would not die by Umi's watery hand on this day as he was cut clean through by a samurai sword. A close inspection of the inmate and other guard revealed them to both have been run thru with the same katana. Without a word the indistinguishable figure made his way out of the cell.

Whoever or whatever it was, it had some of the srongest distractor spells on it Umi had ever seen. He could tell exactly what the figure looked like but as soon as he looked away or blinked all features the figure had became fuzzy, unrecognizable and distorted. Dropping what looked like a credit card on the floor, he reached the center of the walkway and swan-dived down. Leaving Umi to ponder what the F*** that guy was doing here.

"Mea Virga"

From somewhere deep in the prison, Umi's staff came floating towards him, the minutes it took for it to reach him were a testament to how massive the complex was. Attached to it were all of Umi's belongings, taking the staff in his hand, he shot down the same shaft the man before had, levitating his staff to make a makeshift broom and flying downwards to catch up with him. Once at the same level, Umi began a conversation.

"Mind removing the magic ward over you? its making it hard to thank you..."

"No. Leave now or you will die."

The figure Continued on easily cutting through half a foot of adamant wall into the next room. Still the figure seemed to remain cautious and moved at impossibly fast speeds, partially trying not to be seen by the guard patrols which lazily wandered through the hallways, and partially to create distance between himself and Umi.

Whoever he was he didn't want to be followed.

"Odd, you cut through objects with a sword, where have i heard that before?..."

Umi knew about stalwort, swordsmen who tended to be pessimistic and brooding and slice objects needlessly, he knew one very well, and well, in whatever time period he was, he knew pestering them would be bad, but, he continued anyways.

"I KNOW! Your Goemon right!?"

The figure didn't answer Umi's question.

Instead he continued his pace until he reached a very particular area. Cutting through the floor a rush of wind blast in revealing the ground several miles below.

"I don't work for Lupin. Now get out of here before the alarm sounds"

As if on cue red warning lights began flashing saying "hullbreach, alert, hullbreach alert. Please vacate the area." Steal walls were crashing down in the middle of the corridors, sealing the broken area of hull from the rest of the "ship"

The man continued to gesture at the hole, adamant in Umi leaving. Whoever this guy was, he didn't want Umi anywhere near this place.

"Oh! So you have heard of it, so Goemon, what are you gonna do?"

Umi was well aware of the fact that "Goemon" wanted him to leave, but he had to figure out why, all this not knowing where he was going crap made him slightly annoyed. He sensed for presences, but his ESP didnt pick up on any, so he found it would be a good time to talk.

"Mind explaning to me where i am?"

Seeming to relent the men who Umi had named "Goemon" relented but spoke curtly to him. "On one of the nine capital ships on its way to the portal to the past which you opened. The ship is big and moves slowly but it is the closest one to the portal. You need to get there as fast as possible while I sabatoge the ship. No GO!"

The man slashed through one of the metal walls leaving Umi behind. It seemed that Umi had choices. Either disobeying the swordsman and following him, or jumping through the hatch and into the unknown world. The choice was his.
