[Are flash-forwards allowed?]

Jess hated being a ghost for one main reason - she couldn't interact normally with people without that stupid mech with a tiny chibi doll in it that she posessed... That she left at home because for once she didn't want to interact with anyone. Ever since the flood of memory returning to her about how she died, she'd been going through a bout of depression. Getting used to being a ghost was hard enough. But now that she knew how she died and thagt it was still in vain for some of her students really rocked her emotional foundation.

"... Is it even worth being able to stay?" She thought, beginning to question that.

"The real question you should be asking yourself, is could you leave even if you wanted to?"

The shadowmage hung upside down in mid-air, his legs wrapped around his cane. "It really can't be as easy as just wanting to leave and you leaving is it?"

"Huh?" Jess looked up to see the shadow mage. "Oh, it's you Mortimer..." She sighed... "I guess not... I don't want to leave my friends really but at the same time I feel responsible for what happened..." She shook her head, and punched at a nearby tree even though she knew her fist would just go through. At least there was one good thing about being a ghost, she could relieve her stress without destroying anything. She smiled...

"You know what Mortimer, I just can't stay sad with you around... Somehow you always manage to cheer me up."

Taurou was listening in on the conversation behind the same exact tree Jess had "punched". He wan't going to interfere at the moment, so he hung by and waited. He wondered if the two of them could sense his magical energy..

[William said to continue without him, it's his first day at a new school or something like that.]

Jess soon heard a faint whimpering noise coming from behind the tree she'd just 'punched' and leaned through it to see Pyoh.

"You again kitty-boy? What're you doing eavesdropping on us, you mischeivous..." She hesitated momentarily before saying to herself "What am I doing..."

"My best guess? You're not used to being dead yet. Allow me to explain with this observational chart" He chirped happily as seemingly from nowhere he was an oversized chibi in a graduates hat and robes with thick spiral glasses gesturing at two outlines of what appeared to be people, one yellow, one white.

"Now you see, most living things have a general temperment or personality as it were. Typically this develops in early childhood, but its development continues throughout its existence and the challenges it faces. Thus, why most immortals have drastically different personalities every time you come across them at hundred year intervals, because their personalities have continued to grow, change and regress accordingly. You might even say that their personalities are perennial.

The undead (like you and kagami on the other hand) are different. As you have recently "died" you have gone through a major trauma, thus your personality has shifted slightly due to said trauma and the subsequent lifestyle changes. Now, once you have exited this flux period of radical changes in personality and temperment, you will once again enter a state of equilibrium from which only the most severe of changes will alter your temperment further.

In other words, you are looking forwards to an unstable personality for the next six months, and an abnormally stable one for the following eternity" At this last part he seemed to exclaim stretching his limbs as far apart from each other as they could go while a swirly red and yellow background spun behind him.

Then it was back to reality and he once again looked normal. "And don't worry about Taurou he was probably just worried about you and was too shy to say anything. Right Taurou?" He said with a small wink trying to signal a way out of Jess's wrath.

"I see..." Jess muttered, only halfway listening to Mortimer until the last part because of all the long words giving her a headache...

"And how sweet of you Taurou!" It was clear if she could have she would have hugged him... "Dagnabit why'd I leave that mech at home?" She said, clearly irritated she couldn't hug the kitty-boy...

Scratching the back of his head he said Yeah, that's right master. He laughed awkwardly then when Jess failed to hug him he laughed for real. Be careful you don't fall to the center of the earth. He laughed a laughed for a little bit longer then wondered something. hmmm.. He poked Jess's stomach and his finger went right through. Sugoi~
