| Mortimer and Kitty stood alone facing each other on the empty school grass. The night was young as a half moon rose over the school. Looking at the vampire he asked "are you ready".
Drawing his staff from the bag, he proceeded to draw the magic circle he had prepared for this evening. The half moon meant to catalyze the reaction rather than inhibit it.
The circle featured the typical magic circle design usually reserved for barriers, but the runes in the center had been altered to mean "focus"instead of "block" while more runes had been interspersed at each point on the eight pointed star, each one meaning "moon". And for the finishing touch he placed a small bit of silver in the very center to catalyze the reaction.
Hopefully the combination of sigils in addition to the silver (at once a catalyst in magical reactions and a bane to werewolves) would bring the spell to fruition. Looking back up at Kitty he said "Okay, step in the circle and try to transform". Although he hid it behind his passionless voice, he was genuinely worried for Kitty's saftey. So much could go wrong. Perhaps the sigil would prove too powerful and lock away her powers. Or worse, it could prove to actually excite her natural feral instincts and make her uncontrolable.
Calming down, he waited for Kitty to enter the circle and activated it the moment she began transforming.
OOC; Well Kitty, you are inside of a magic circle designed to regulate your shapeshifting power so you can decide how much and to what extent you will transform. All you have to do is describe what you feel as you go through this transformation process. Is it painful, strange, blissful, tingling, burning, or some other sensation? What do you feel when you transform and what is the end result after you have morphed? Do you remain exactly the same, do you just have a light covering of fur all over your body making you into a cat, no, wolf-girl? Are you a true werewolf that looks sort of like the picture I gave you, or are you a full wolf. Or do you not look like any of those at all? What ends up happening is completely up to you :shiney: . |

| I recommend Eri going with you, she has aptitude in sealing spells, aside from Yoko, Aria, Ritia... like everyone else is good at that too.. |

| Kitty walked into the circle, she was unaware about the fact that so many things could go wrong. "Kittal-latic mutare du mihi sine lupus animus." Hair grew along her arms and legs as she shrank to just over half her size. "I feel a tingling sensation along my skin when I change... And when I turn back nothing usually happens, or if something does I wouldn't know about it since I pass out." |

| The first part of the transformation was over. She had just entered the form of a small wolf. The first part of the experiment had been a success. Now the tricky part began. The sigils on the ground began gathering the energy from the moonlight and the silver just beneath kittys horizontal chest began glowing. Suddenly, the silver shot a bright beem of light directly into Kitty's heart, suffusing her with energy from the moon i it's purest form. While at the same time, the protective nature of the circle attempted to regulate the energy, blocking it off from suffusing too quickly. Mortimer only hopped that Kitty could withstand the magic being poured into her. He hoped that the shield sigils would block off the majority of her bestial nature but he feared that they wouldn't be enough and would be overpowered by the moonlight. It all rested on Kitty to supress her feral side while releasing it at the same time. |

| Kitty felt a pain in her chest as she absorbed the magic energy. As her wolf form grew so did the pain in her chest, Kitty gasped in agony and collapsed to the ground breathing hard. She started to feel a strange sensation down her spine and to the tip of her tail. Kitty's new form wasn't much different to her old one, she was still the same height but her coat was now a metallic silver color and her paws were glowing. The pain was still there and didn't seem to be subsiding.
OOC:((is this what I'm supposed to say??)) |

| OOC; PERFECT . "Okay now Kitty, are you still there... can you speak? Are you in control?" Mortimer asked, a sliver of worry creeping into his voice. He made ready to increase the barrier and stop the spell should anything go awry. |

| Eyes widening, Mortimer became extremely frightened. He boosted the power in the barrier desperatley trying to halt the process.
It seemed to be working for a time. Until what sounded like a clear bell ringing once echoed across teh field. He new that sound too well, it was the sound of a spell being broken. Looking down at the circle below kitty he discovered the barrier runes had been broken while the moon light runes remained intact. If something wasn't done soon, the energy from the moon would overwhelm her.
"Kitty, Kitty, look at me... look at me" Mortimer cried as he tried to get Kitty's attention. Fear clear and present in his voice. "Now I want you to listen very carefully. Right now the seals for this spell have been broken. In a short while your going to be filled with an over-surge of power. What I need you to do is brace for that. It's going to hurt... a lot. But all you have to do is use your will and desire the magic energy to not spread throughout you. It's not going to stop it but willing it not to happen should be enough to slow it down."
Pausing to catch his breath and swallow the saliva building up in his mouth he continued. "Don't revert back to your human form just yet as doing so could lead to dissasterous results. Please, just bear with this".
OOC; Right, so the failsafe in case something went wrong broke. So now what you have to do is will the energy already in you into submission. Theoretically, doing this will allow you to take on the "silver wolf" form. In this form although ot as physically powerful as your normal wolf form, you should be more adept at magic (sort of like how Negi powers up when he uses cantus bellax and magia erebra. it's a magic stat booster technique). Additionally, mastering this much energy should allow you to return to human form and not pass out when you go into your normal wolf form.
Sorry for switching the learned ability up on you but I think this is more balanced. If you can master this then you can use your normal wolf shift without passing out afterwords. Additionally you learn "silver wolf transformation" which allows you to harness more magical energy and cast better spells depending on the phases of the moon. Hope this is okay and you can control this :shiney: |

| Kitty squeezed her eyes shut and silently willed the magic energy to stop. A pain took hold of her chest that made tears form at her eyes. Stop... stop... stop... I'm going to die! She thought quietly. Just when she thought she was going to faint again the pain in her chest released. Kitty took a series of deep breaths trying to calm down, "The pain stopped..." She whispered to Mortimer. |

| Releived at Kitty's lack of pain, Mortimer wanted to reach out and touch her. he wanted to wrap his arms around her giant wolf neckand hug her close. He wanted to run his hands through her soft fur and tell her she'd be alright. He wanted to burry his face in her wolfen chest and cry and apologize for putting her through so much pain. He wanted to do all of these and show that he had actually come to respect, care for and maybe even love the little vampire.
He wanted to do all these things but instead he regained his composure and asked her, are you able to move, do you feel any different?
OOC; sorry if I railroaded you back there, hope you don't mind. |

| Kitty slowly stood up and walked over the illuminating lines drawn around the circle. "Wow, it felt like was walking through honey." she breathed and made her way around to Mortimer. |

| Chuckling slightly at Kitty's statement, Mortimer continued with the test. "Alright then Kitty, now here's what I want you to do. I want you to run over to that boulder over there as quikly as you can, then hit it as hard as possible, are you okay with that?" |

| Kitty nodded before she charged at the boulder. Lifting a paw she brought it down as hard as she possibly could and smashed it into millions of irreparable pieces. |

| Mortimer looked in awe at Kitty's wolf form running in the moonlight. Her powerful legs pushing her forward almost ten feet at a time. Her lithe body struck across the field not harshly like lightning or the sun, but gracefully as moonlight slowly rises to illuminate the dark land. Still, her speed and grace far surpassed any of is expectations. But above all in the moonlight, in her wolf form, to Mortimer at least... she was beautiful. Shaking his head he tried to clear the image. What was he doing. He couldn't care about someone like her.
*Flashback* Mortimer was young then, he was still given the same responsibilities and his natural apathy for the world had yet to manifest. It was a day like any other except on this day, he met a stray kitten on the way back from school. Decieding that the infant cat liked him and that he could use a friend he brought it home. As soon as he walked in the door with the cat in his arms, his grandfather had reached out with one hand and snapped its neck killing it instantly. Without any word or explanation he had just killed the innocent little cat. Screaming curses at his grandfather as he ran away in tears Mortimer dashed out into the graveyard to give it a proper burial. Unfortunately, the same problem arose with the cat as with all the corpses in their graveyard. At night, they came back to life. And this time, Mortimer was forced to kill the innocent cat once more. Reaching down for the twice killed cat Mortimer cradled it in his arms crying once more. If he hadn't brought it home then the little kitty would still be alive. Turning up to look at the half moon that night he saw his grandfathers face blocking it. The old man looked down at the child with dead-milky eyes and said only one thing... "Never invest too much emotion into one thing" *end flashback*
Was it then that Mortimer began feeling lazy and apathetic about his life? Was it then that he stopped caring about work and studying and everything? Was it because living your life as someone who slept twelve hours a day left you less time to ponder on what you didn't have... what you could never have if you didn't want your heart broken?
*Crash*
Mortimer was brought out of his thoughts as Kitty crushed the boulder with one of her powerful paws. Mortimer desperately tried to push down any fraternal feelings he had for Kitty as he called her back. When she was once again standing in front of him he gave her the final test "alright now, this is the most important part... I want you to try changing back to your normal form now." |

| Kitty closed her eyes and willed herself to be transformed back. The hair along her arms, back and legs disappeared, her snout slowly flattened and her tail shortened. In seconds she was back into her human form. "I'm feeling a bit dizzy, but should be fine." Kitty smiled and wrapped her arms around her body shivering from the cold.
OOC: are we done here? |

| Just one more thing, how do I tell the difference between the two transformations since the incantations are the same? |

| Your normal wolf form is what you can turn into during the day and when there is no moonlight out. THe silver wolf form (although more powerful) is dependent on moonlight. (Also, keep in mind that it is dangerous to use when more then half a moon is showing). |

| Sounds good. Right now we're being bombarded by a ton of sagitta magica spells in an enclosed hallway... Lets see if you can figure out a way to get past. |
