Emi smiled as she went over to the pudding dragon... She decided to try and see just how good this summon was as she produced her staff and brandished it... "Just wanna test ya ya... Pudding Dragon whatchamacallit."

Kagami laughed as she approached the new guy. "Mortimer-kun~, Darren-me! When will I get a rematch?"

[Honorifics note: '-me' is considered an insult, or humbling if you apply it to you own name. But here Kagami means it to incite Darren to fight...]

"Very good Taurou. We'll make a proper mage of you yet!" He said with what he hoped was an encouraging smile. "I'm starting to think you should tutor Darren afterall"

"Emi please don't incite the wrath of the pudding dragon, we don't know what it can do yet so please keep it in tact."

"You'll get your chance again after Darren has managed to catch up with you.... though he still has quite a ways to go now. If his training and extracurriculars progress as they should then he will reach your level in a fortnight."

He took in everything Morti just said

The adorable kityyman being a mentor? That sounded just dandy the more he thought about how he couldn't understand Mortimer sometimes. I'd be cool to hang out in the very least he thought looking at his cat ears.

A snap was heard. He looked to see the Magical Pudding Dragon bearing it's teeth at Emi while she raised her staff against it

Oye! Super Magical Pudding Dragon! At ease he growled in Draeconic.

As you wish master, but next time call me Albert, his new faithful guardian replied.

He then turned to Kagami.

Hey there Kagami... He continued with a dark voice
After you gave me this I couldn't stop thinking about you...

Showing her his stronger, heavily scarred arm that had a green tinge.

I needed to thank you for this...

Kagami felt sweat going down her forehead... What did he mean when he said he needed to thank her?

Emi was slightly frustrated at not getting to fight 'Albert' but put her Staff away and put out a tiny hand. "So your name is Albert then... I know how frustrating humans can be, trust me." She smiled. "Emi is the name. Shall we be allies or rivals?"

Taurou looked at his master in surprise. Tutor? He was never good at being a tutor. He looked at Darren and pondered what he could teach him, let alone where he could teach him or how he could. Scratching the back of his head he watched as Darren spoke to Emi and then mentally face palmed when he thought that Darren had the same aggressiveness he had.

Sending a basic telepathic message to Taurou he said "Don't worry. It's mostly to act as an intermediary. Besides you can learn more by teaching and training someone than you can being taught. Look at him and look at yourself. At one time you were very much like him but you have been through so much more and come much farther. And with him as your underling you can only grow from there, and allow him to grow along side you. Though I would suggest starting out with basic fights and moving on to more complex magical theory from there"

The shadow mage was glad to see that Emi was at lest TRYING to extend the olive branch towards Albert... at least she hadn't thrown a pie at him yet, that was a good sign.

Interceeding as best he could Mortimer stepped between Kagami and Darren. Darren seemed hell-bent on revenge while Kagami apparently hadn't realized Darren could hold a grudge for more than ten minutes. "Kagami, why don't you test your skills against Taurou for a bit with an all out no holds barred sparring match... You're both at the same level so it would benefit you both to spar with an equal opponent. Darren could learn more from his future teacher and his rival and Emi can llearn a bit about where she would need to protect herself most in a real fight. What do you say, a friendly spar for old times sake?"

Mortimer mentally appologized to Taurou for this. But he felt it would be better for Darren to get a better view of Kagami first hand in relation to his new tutor. And it would keep Darren from getting hurt by Kagami while he was at it.

Kagami smiled... "Oh most certainly~" She said, taking a few steps towards Taurou before she got her chainsaw out of malletspace. "No mercy~!" She chimed, starting the chainsaw and swinging it at Kitty-boy.

Master really? What the fu-- Taurou was cut short by a chainsaw being swung at him. He backpedaled as fast as he could to get a few feet in between him and Kagami. Oi.. You ripped my coat.. He looked at the large shred that was left on this coat and pulled out the figuring of the spear he kept. Alright then... グロウ. He said and the figuring became the spear made out of his dark magic. He charged at Kagami with the spear in hand, stabbing straight for her head.

Kagami dodged so that it hit her shoulder instead, taking the pain. She knew she couldn't fully dodge Taurou's attacks, he was too fast... And so she went for a swing at his hands, trying to damage them so he couldn't weild a spear.

The initial attacked missed its target but struck her shoulder instead leaving a shallow but probably painful wound. When Kagami swung at Taurou's hands, he cursed and did his best to dodge. His speed helped, but didn't allow him to completely avoid the attack. He used the spear as a lever, since it was lodged in Kagami's shoulder, to propel himself upwards. The chainsaw instead struck his leg, ripping apart the skin on his shin. He landed behind her, taking the spear with him and rolling to a semi fighting stance. He cursed the pain that haunted this leg and called out a spell he hadn't used yet. Liberatio! He yelled and his spear became a larger version of itself but instead of a spear head, a large cleaver blade was placed there. Almost like an enormous halberd. But unlike a halberd, both ends had the blade and both sides of the stick had the blade instead of just one. He felt more adequate to fight against a chainsaw now and flung himself at Kagami once more. But instead of just using the blades to hack at her, he infused some dark lightning into each blade. Dodge this! he yelled as he swung the now huge weapon down at her back.

Kagami exchanged her Chainsaw for her buckler, and wreathed it in her flaming Ki. Hopefully it would be enough to block the... twin-halberd thing, even with the lightning infusing it. She also sent out a spray of flaming knifes with her free hand as well, and was prepared to get out her molotov cocktail and light it if she managed to block Taurou's attack. At such a close distance a Molotov Cocktail would be almost impossible to dodge.

Seeing the buckler appear in her hands Taurou was unsure his attack would be suffice. His blade struck the shield and there was a loud "bang" noise as the two energies conflicted for dominance. Taurou's Lightning was arcing sporadically on his weapon and on his arms. The coat's sleeves were now just tatters hanging loosely on his arms as the lightning burned through the fabrics. The fire was keeping the lightning from doing its job, so there was no real help from the magic. The buckler was about to break as a couple of flaming knives flew at Taurou. He disconnected his blade from Kagami's buckler and jumped backwards. He took the couple of knives that struck his shoulder out of him and tossed them to the side. The lightning that was blocked by the fire had struck the knives before they hit him so the fire didn't spread on him, but there were now multiple stab wounds in his left shoulder. This would weaken his attacks some but would not hinder his speed. He sucked in a big breathe of air, and said Poen a dioddefaint: And stopped the incantation as he charged towards Kagami again. But instead of a frontal approach he went to he left and swung upwards with his front blade hoping to sever her arm. He kept holding his breath just waiting for her to retaliate.

Kagami did not excpect an attack from behind, and soon screamed in the pain of her arm being severed. The smell of burning flesh overwhelmed everyone and finally Kagami couldn't take the pain anymore... From seemingly nowhere she get out a sml white flag which she waved in the air before putting it away and putting her remaining hand over the dismembered socket of her shoulder. And from there she couldn't do anything but scream in agony.

His strike met almost no resistance and it lopped off her arm so Taurou tripped forwards not expecting to go through so easily. He used his left hand to propel himself the same direction he was falling in and landed in a fighting position only to see his opponent waving a white flag. Taurou sank down to an uncomfortable sitting position, letting his heart slow down. Once it had, he said 縮小する, and the spear went back to its figurine size. He immediately felt weaker and tired for the Liberatio spell wore off as the spear went to its shrunken state.

Sorry, he said after gathering his thoughts and energy again. He picked up her arm and handed it to her with a sad smile on his face. Was told not to hold back...

Even Mortimer had to wince at the brutality of the attack. Kagami's arm was off and they had to take care of it before she lost it forever. Rushing over the shadow mage grasped the arm held by Taurou and tried to get kagami from screaming. He tried to get her to calm down as best he could as he placed her arm on the now empty socket.

Forming a patch of shadow around the entire structure he hoped that her arm would be able to settle correctly, muttering arcane phrases under his breath as the vampire was enveloped in a black cocoon. The healing energies combined with her vampire metabolism would heal her in time, but she was looking to at the very LEAST three days inside of the shadows embrace.

Afterall he had crafted this spell for exactly this purpose. He was able to breath a sigh of relief as he completed the spell and the vampiress was fully enveloped. He hoped she would remain docile enough to allow the narcotic effect to seep in and not burst out of the embrace.

"That was good Taurou but try to leave your opponent a bit more intact next time... Juken, Emi, do either of you have any questions or are you ready to proceed?"

Darren was sort of lost by then.

...um yea how was that related to the defense class , 1/2 wondering how seeing an arm severed would teach.

He looked with worry as he saw Jess in the cocoon. He wrote down a letter and gave it to Mortimer.

Make sure you give this to her when she comes out he said.

Damn Vampire he thought as he looked at the black cocoon and Taorou's arm.

He then turned and pointed to Emi. Erm am I gonna have to sic Albert on her now? he thought aloud.

Watching Master heal Kagami, he bowed his head and said, I'm sorry Master. But you told me to go all out so I didn't feel the need to hold back... He watched the cocoon of darkness engulf the wounded area and touched Mortimer on the shoulder. Don't leave that on too long... He held out his left arm in front of Mortimer as a reminder of what he did.

He remembered that he had a rip in his coat and looked down at his coat to see that where Kagami had struck was the same pocket he put the book in. Damnit.... He said as he pulled out the remains of the book.

Taurou seemed done for the day and caught up in his own problems at the moment so he decided to let him be for a while. Mortimer already had more than a few engagements already and he needed to make good on his previous arrangements before he went on.

"Don't bother, your dragon may be strong and able to block attacks but it's not nearly fast or accurate enough to catch Emi. Now if we can just test out Emi's research I think we can call this trip a success!"

Well, as much of a success as could be had with a number of destroyed books, tables, chairs, book cases as there were... not to mention the injuries and mental anguish which would certainly follow... alright it wasn't that successful but Mortimer was at least looking to break even here.

[Excuse me for posting on this account but I have little time to spare so... Here goes.]

Emi said the incantation slowly and quietly, and visibly she changed. Her frame became less flexible, more sturdy. It could be seen by those closest that the scraps of junk she'd turned into clothing got slightly tighter on her, but only slightly. "Hmm... Don't feel much different." She commented, but then noticed the slight reduction in flexibility. "Oh..." She wondered how much defense she'd gained for the loss in flexibility, if it'd turned out to be worth it.

[Could someone help me work out the incantation? :P]

[Hope you don't mind but to finish things up I'm gonna do two things with Emi. Hope you don't mind]

"Well the answer to that is very simple. Stay there a minute why don't you" Backing up about ten feet Mortimer got himself into a track runners position before running towards the little ant-girl as fast as he could! Faster and Faster and FASTER! Honestly it was taking more time than it should given Mortimers need for unnecessary climactic build-up. And Faster and FASTER and FASTER STILL! (nough climactic buildup now) Until he came right before the ant brought back his left leg behind him as high up as it could possibly go, before seinging down with as much force as possible puntting the little ant-girl as if she were a football, sending her flying across the library and from the sound of things knocking over a book-case or two.

After the commotion had died down Mortimer called out to Emi "ARE YOU OKAYY OVER THERE?" He was responded to be a small exo-skeletal hand pocking out from underneath a pile of books with a thumbs up sign. "Well that answers that question... who's up for cookies?" he said with unnecessary cheer in his voice.

Cookies, pudding, everyone's life here cept you was threatened today...

Yea I can totally go for some freaking cookies Darren joked.
